Roots & Wings offers a Spanish language-learning course for educators that uses interactive activities to equip educators with the skills and confidence to express KINDNESS, build CONNECTIONS, break down communication barriers, and foster BELONGING for your Spanish-speaking students.

What is it?
This is a four-week Spanish language-learning intensive for educators. Educators will meet one day per week for one hour after school at your building or a central location within the district.

What to expect
Discover how to use technology to break down communication barriers and offer students the support they need.
Learn effective ways to connect with Spanish-speaking students, showing them you care despite any language challenges. Explore simple, purposeful phrases that promote meaningful interactions and encourage engagement among all students.

I have seen firsthand how teachers frequently feel overwhelmed and unprepared when it comes to connecting with their Spanish-speaking students, despite their sincere desire to do so. I've seen teachers struggle with pronouncing student names and feel discouraged about how to express care and connection.
Drawing from my research on teachers' perceptions of valuable professional development, I have created a workshop that merges my passion for language learning with a deep commitment to teacher growth and classroom inclusivity.
